Hello guys, I'm Chaos Rush from PokéCommunity, author of "Pokémon Saga - Pokémon DarkViolet". Well, I haven't been working on DarkViolet at all lately because I found out that it's pretty much impossible to edit the PokéDex order in HeartGold, and since DarkViolet is part of a 4-part series of hacks called, "Pokémon Saga", I was planning on making a HeartGold hack in the future, but after finding out the PokéDex problem, I know that I can never complete Pokémon Saga the way I wanted it to be, or at least until 4th Gen hacking progresses more.
So anyways, I'm slowly getting into GBC hacking. This is a mini project I'm working on, called Pokémon Epic Gold. Basically, it fixes a major flaw that the original Gold/Silver had: There is no level progression at all between the 5th and 7th Gyms. So I've done some changes to the wild Pokémon levels and every Trainer in the game after Violet City now has a different team.
This is a hack of Pokémon Gold.
Here are the main changes:
*All Pokémon exclusive to Pokémon Silver can now be caught in the wild
*The Gym order has been changed. Here is the new order that you challenge the Gyms:
1. Falkner
2. Bugsy
3. Whitney
4. Morty
5. Pryce
6. Chuck
7. Jasmine
8. Clair
*Pryce, who is now the 5th Gym Leader, goes up to Lv34
*Chuck, who is now the 6th Gym Leader, goes up to Lv37
*Jasmine, who is now the 7th Gym Leader, goes up to Lv40, and has evolved one of her Magnemites, and her Steelix now knows Rock Slide
*Clair now goes up to Lv44, her first Dragonair is replaced with Gyarados, and her other two Dragonairs have had their movesets revised
*EVERY SINGLE TRAINER IN THE JOHTO REGION after Violet City has had their levels raised a bit, and some have had their teams changed to reflect Crystal/HeartGold/SoulSilver
**For instance, on Route 27, there is a Cool Trainer with a Lv31 Starmie, Lv31 Starmie, and Lv33 Nidoqueen. In HG/SS, her team was changed to Lv36 Growlithe, Lv36 Staryu, and Lv33 Nidorina. In Epic Gold, she now has Lv40 Arcanine, Lv40 Starmie, and Lv40 Nidoqueen.
*The Rocket Executives fought in the Radio Tower now have good movesets
*The final Rocket Executive (the one that becomes Archer in Gen IV) has evolved his Koffing, and replaced his Houndour with a Crobat
*Lance's Dragonite are no longer hax
*Many trainers in the Johto region no longer use hax Pokemon, simply due to higher level or me de-evolving them or replacing them
*Because Pryce is now the 5th Gym Leader, you're not supposed to set foot on Route 38 until you have 6 Badges. This allows for slightly higher levels. The levels have barely changed during the first 4 badges, but you'll definitely start to notice some of the differences during the 5th to 8th badges.
Gym Leader teams:
(Because the teams have barely changed during the first 4 leaders, I'm only going to list the last 4)
5. Pryce
Lv30 Seel
Lv32 Dewgong
Lv34 Piloswine
6. Chuck
Lv34 Primeape
Lv37 Poliwrath
7. Jasmine
Lv36 Magnemite
Lv38 Magneton
Lv40 Steelix
8. Clair
Lv40 Gyarados
Lv42 Dragonair
Lv42 Dragonair
Lv44 Kingdra

Length: All of Johto + E4. Kanto has not yet been edited. Patch the ips to a clean Pokémon Gold rom.
Also, before playing, remember this: PRYCE IS NOW THE 5TH GYM LEADER! AFTER YOU BEAT MORTY, DO NOT HEAD FOR OLIVINE CITY, HEAD TO MAHOGANY TOWN! DO NOT SET FOOT ON ROUTE 38 UNTIL YOU BEAT PRYCE!
And no, this hack does not represent what I wanted, "Pokémon Saga - HeartGold" to be. This is simply a mini-project just to see what G/S/C would have been like if there was actual level progression between the 5th & 7th Gyms, because there wasn't any in G/S/C/HG/SS. Please don't say something like, "omg this is hardly a hack at all" because I understand that, I'm not trying to make a full-fledged hack, this hack is quite literally Pokémon Gold with better level progression during the 5th and 7th Gyms and nothing else to it.
